Jazz fans rejoice! We've released our first round of artists who will be gracing the stage in the Festival Village Noosa, Lions Park during the four day festival.
Occurring from Thursday 3rd September - Sunday 6th September 2015, the schedule is already jam packed with some of the greatest names in jazz and some amazing performers.
The 1st round of artists announced to appear at the 24th annual Noosa Jazz Festival are:
Emma Pask, Darren Percival, Todd Hardy and Anita Spring, Berardi/Foran/Karlen, Jan Preston, Clayton Doley, The Lachy Doley Group, Feel the Manouche with George Washingmachine, Ingrid James and Louise Denson’s “Wild Silk Strings Project” featuring: Andrew Shaw, Paul Hudson, Miroslav Bukovsky, John Mackey, Michael Patterson, Courtenay Lind and Eugenie Costello, Jazz Singers Jam Session, Noosa/Buderim Concert Band, Inaburra Big Band, Sunshine Coast Grammar School and St Andrew’s Anglian College to name just a few and we're looking forward to announcing more artists in early June!
The Festival Village, seen as the home and heart of the Noosa Jazz Festival, will offer over 2 stages with over 45 performances including main stage performances, workshops, master classes, jazz river cruises, the legends lunch series, big bands, swing bands, soul bands, jazz bands and Australian Jazz royalty.
Returning to the main stage is festival favourite Emma Pask, and she will be joined over the weekend by other great acts including, Darren Percival, Todd Hardy and Anita Spring, Jan Preston, and the Inaburra Big Band.
Fresh from recording his latest album in New Orleans and Sydney is the amazing Clayton Doley, whilst the wonderful Ingrid James & Louise Denson’s Wild Silk Strings Project is sure to take the breath away of anyone who listens.
Highlighting Noosa Jazz Festival’s commitment to investing in the youth and industry development, jazz bands from Sunshine Coast Grammar School and St Andrew’s Anglican College will gain unforgettable experience through the Youth in Jazz program, with many more Youth in Jazz artists still to be announced.
And this is just a small glimpse at the program, with yet more great artists to be announced over the coming weeks.
Taking on the laid back lifestyle of the Noosa region, the 2015 Noosa Jazz Festival will embrace a picnic theme and provide patrons with a stylish outdoor picnic experience featuring the expected rugs and lounge chairs where audiences can sip on a glass of their favourite drink whilst relaxing and enjoying the sounds of jazz by the Noosa River.
